Redefining Conservation

Philadelphia Community Farm (PCF) serves urban and rural communities located within a 60-mile radius of its campus, on 300+ acres of permanently protected natural areas. These areas encompass a vast array of ecology including fields, natural spring, prairie, waterfall, woodlands, and restored Oak Savanna.

300 acres of land are managed via Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy and the Wisconsin DNR. This area is open to the general public, and sees 1000s of annual visitors.

Through our partnership with Standing Cedars, PCF is a part of protecting 1,550 acres of land and has aided to re-establish the Oak Savanna Buffer and wild prairie along the federally protected St. Croix River.

We see it as imperative to view conservation holistically; including regenerative agricultural practices, community, and education as non-negotiable in protecting natural spaces.

PCF has positioned itself to be a leader in redefining conservation. In order to heal ourselves we need to heal the soil, and view conservation through a holistic lens.

Trails and nature spaces held in conservation support the hundreds of annual participants (k-adult) hosted by PCF to camp, retreat, and learn holistically through our Immersive Educational Programming. These events are co-created with participant groups to bring humans back into connection with the whole; to heal from generational trauma, through body presence and education in nature spaces.

Redefining conservation to include regenerative agriculture, education and community is a chance for us all to thrive together with nature.
